New Quince & Co Marled Linen Yarn Colours

Sparrow is now available in 31 colours! Undyed, it’s a pale silvery brown with a soft sheen. Its clean, smooth hand is crisp as you knit it. But after washing and wearing it becomes handkerchief soft. It’s spun from organic linen grown in Belgium.

A lot of our customer knit summer tops and lace shawls from Sparrow, and find they get great use.

We have a range of patterns designed for Quince & Co Sparrow. Here are some highlights from their recent collection.

This Snell Tee, designed By Leah b. Thibault, is the perfect simple, summer top. It’s knitted in the round from the bottom up, with a graceful boatneck framed by purled ridges. It could be worn with summer skirts, jeans or over a swimsuit. Linen dries quickly so makes a great cover up.

If you like a little lace in your linen try the Callum Tee, designed by Isabell Kraemer. Simple and seamless, but when the lace contrasts with your skin tone, as it does here, the pattern really pops. We love this almost black colour, Eclipse.

If lace is your thing, but you want more coverage, try Gilead by Leila Raabe

Knitted in Sparrow from the bottom up with dolman shaping, this seamed pullover is roomy, with a wide, graceful neck opening, slim three-quarter sleeves, and shaped drop-shoulders for a simple but structured silhouette that looks elegant over a camisole or dress. Great for remaining cool, while preventing sun burn.

Another top with those super powers is Gillespie by Cecily Glowick MacDonald. This top-down seamless raglan pullover features a flattering, easy fit, open neckline, and raw edges that don’t curl in a linen yarn.

Try it in a pale neutral colour like the Maize shown above, or one of the new marl colours, like Frond.

This simple linen tunic vest, Raven, designed by Melissa Labarre is a classic. Worked in Sparrow from the bottom up in the round, the beauty of this piece lies in its understated details, with smooth stockinette stitches, a-line shaping, and subtle side slit pockets—all with a drape that is unparalleled in any other fiber. It’s a classic that we can imagine wearing year after year, getting better with age.
