Never taken part in a knit along (or KAL for short)? It’s easy! Saturday 4th June is the date everyone will cast on, though if you’ve already started you can still take part. Then comes the fun bit, knitting away to your hearts content and joining in with all the ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘ahh-ing’ over everyones works in progress on Raverly and Instagram.

What happens if your work in progress doesn’t seem to be, well, progressing? A KAL is not only great for inspiration, but also for encouragement and guidance. We’re very grateful that the amazing designer of the pattern Justyna Lorkowska will be on hand to offer tips and tricks along the way.

In fact, Justyna will be teaching at Loop this weekend! We have a few places left on her courses Cables and Texture, Russian Combination Knitting and The Beauty of Knitted on Borders, so give the shop a call to book your place.

The Piccadilly Shawl uses the sumptuous Eden Cottage Yarns Hayton, and the sample knit takes two skeins of Marigold and just one of the colour Red Kite.Eden Cottage at Loop London in Marigold and Red Kite.

You can join in with the KAL whatever brand you use, but at the moment we now have a very healthy amount of Marigold in stock, which really does sing as a contrast colour! Of course the beautiful range of shades in the Hayton means that you can dream up endless combinations…

The KAL will end on the 26th August and then every finished shawl will be placed into a random draw. Justyna has kindly donated several of her patterns for some winners and the top prize is a £25 gift voucher to spend at Loop!

Happy Knitalong-ing!

  1. In California so I just got your email. I wish I were in London to attend your knit along.
I will be arriving in London on the 28th of June and visiting your shop either that day or the 29th. I’m staying at the Radisson by the airport.
    See you soon, Pam Waters

    • Hi Pam,
The Knit along is open to everyone, any where in the world! You don’t have to be in the shop to join, but we look forward to welcoming you there soon!
      See you soon!

  2. I tried to buy the yarn for this project from Eden Cottage Yarns themselves at Leeds wool show Armley mills ,and they were out of stock! I think you must have it all, so I’m following another project instead. Shame x

  3. I am working on the Piccadilly Shawl and having trouble figuring out how to make the flowers on the flower band – particularly Row 7. Can anyone explain in a little more detail? Thanks
