Quince & Co. Core Wool Collection 2019

Quince & Co. Core Wool Collection 2019

Throughout the month of September we have been excitedly waiting each week for the newest patterns from the Quince & Co. Core Collection. We’re doing a round up of all these lovely patterns this week!

Loop is so proud to be a flagship store for Quince & Co.‘s beautiful yarns.

This collection is a fab one – there are patterns for women, as well as men and children. Quince & Co. say;

This year, we envisioned vintage shapes and styles for our Core Wool collection, and combined them with thoughtful details, classic colorwork, and dense texture to bring you some seriously knit-worthy pieces. In this crop of new designs, you’ll find knits for all ages and all genders. We hope you’ll enjoy casting them on!

So, let’s dive in and have a look at all the patterns from this year’s Core Collection!

Billie is a children’s cardigan with a beautiful textured design, knitting in the Finch base. Finch just arrived in three new colours – Hunter, Parchment and Rook!

Georgie is the worsted version of Billie, knitted in Lark, and available in children’s sizes. This knit-purl texture is so effective!

Norma is a women’s cardigan that uses Finch. This is a classic design with a twist; the cable and twisted rib panels add a lovely detail to a great ‘basic’ piece for Autumn days. And it has pockets, always a major plus!

Quinn designed by Dawn Catanzaro

Quinn is a fisherman’s rib pullover for women, with a funnel neck detail. The colour block enables you to play with colour palettes and proportions of colour.

Quinton is the counterpart of Quinn – this men’s version has different detailing on the raglan, and is a little more of a classic shape than Quinn – it has ribbing on the cuffs, hem and neckband, which lends to a classic sweater shape. Both Quinn and Quinton are knitted in Chickadee Organic Heathers. You could also use the classic Chickadee, but keep an eye out for yardage requirements as the two Chickadee bases have different yardage.

Hazel designed by Diana Walla

Hazel is a great sweater to wear on chilly Autumn mornings. It has a lovely detailed diamond motif colour work yoke! Knitted up in Lark, it will make a super squishy fabric!

Hedy is the super sweet children’s version of Hazel, again knitted up in Lark. This version has an all over lice stitch motif in the body and sleeves, which is so cute, and lends itself very well (dare we mention it yet) to a festive sweater!

Gail and Burl are great his and hers sweaters that feature an allover interrupted double seed stitch motif. Knitted in Osprey, they would make perfect cosy winter sweaters. Gail has a slightly slimmer fit, and a shallower yoke, with a wider neck. Burl has a bit of a roomier fit in the body and sleeves, and has a shallower more fitted crew neck.

Lastly there are the sweet Dot Mittens and Dot Hat, designed by Dawn Catanzaro in the Puffin base.

These cosy accessories use just one skein each of the main and contrast colours, and will knit up very quickly in the chunky Puffin yarn. We think these would make great quick gifts for Christmas or birthdays! The patterns are from child to a large adults size.

We also want to tell you about an exciting event happening at Loop soon, while we talk about sweaters!

If you’re a keen sweater knitter (or garments in general) in the London area, you’ll be very excited to hear we will be having a book signing and knit demonstration with Julie Weisenberger of Cocoknits! This will be on Sunday 20th October from 2:00 – 4:30pm.
