Rico Joy and More Loop-y Loveliness!

We love welcoming new things from Rico! This week we’re totally adoring two new pattern books and some lovely additions to their always-trusty range of yarns.

We’re super excited to have Made by Me Men No. 3 and Made by Me No. 21 in the shop. Both are full of gorgeous, modern, and wearable patterns that are straightforward without sacrificing an inch of style or creativity. Made by Me Men is a stellar collection of 22 new patterns for cardigans, sweaters, hats, and scarves are going to spark so much inspiration among knitters who prefer more masculine lines as well as those knitting for men. It’s super refreshing to see this robust and sophisticated collection! And the new edition of Made by Me contains 49 fab and fun patterns for the season ahead, from scarves to slipovers and even a tote bag!

We’re also thrilled with the addition of Baby Alpaca and Fun Neps to our collection of Rico yarns. If you want to make something soft this season Luxury Pure Baby Alpaca is your best bet. We can’t think of much we wouldn’t want to knit up in this (cosy mittens! A snug cowl!) but if you’re after more suggestions, Made by Me No. 21 features this yarn! We have a feeling Baby Alpaca knits are going to make their way to lots of gift exchanges this year!

Fun Neps is also featured in Made by Me No. 21. This yarn is a playful blend of organic cotton, alpaca, and merino wool with colourful polyamide nubs. With tons of interest on the colour and texture fronts, this yarn also manages to be super cosy to wear. Rico’s full range of yarns is versitile and reliable, from go-to options like Organic Cotton Aran to fun and funky options like Rainbow Glitz (which is designed to be held double with another yarn to bring flair to any project). Beloved Patterns 2025

There’s more loveliness on our shelves in the form of A-lehdet / Kotivinkki’s Beloved Patterns 2025. This volume includes 20 new knitting patterns inspired by the work of the Finnish graphic designer Erik Bruun. The stranded colourwork sweaters and accessories in this collection portray scenes and motifs drawn from Erik’s work, from reclining sea otters to entire cityscapes! This collection is a lovely ode to an iconic designer.

Sally Nencini’s Diamond Dogs

Long-time readers will know what fans we are of all things Sally Nencini. This Norfolk-based knitter creates the sweetest dolls and toys with a retro vibe we absolutely adore. The latest addition to the collection is Sally’s Diamond Dogs. We love these dogs so much that Sally created some in bespoke colours for Loop: pink, yellow, and green. These pups dressed in the classic Loop palette totally warm our hearts! Sally’s other cuddly creations like Mini Bears and Mr and Mrs Bunny are equally loveable. Thank you Sally!
