Summer in Colour! New Hues from Qing, Madtosh, Spincycle & More

Summer in Colour! New Hues from Qing, Madtosh, Spincycle & More

What a beautiful bounty of colours we’ve had in the shop! New hues in some of our very favourite yarns have arrived this week and we’re having so much fun planning what we’ll knit with them.

Madelinetosh Twist Light yarn in the new colour “Georgia O’Keeffe”

Gorgeous and moody “Georgia O’Keeffe” joins our collection of 75-plus colours of Madelinetosh Twist Light. Deep teal and brown tones give this yarn the feeling of a swimming hole after a storm, or a slow river catching the very last light of the day. Madtosh Twist Light is perfect for summer shoulder wraps like the Ava shawl, providing just enough warmth while maintaining a romantic, summery feeling with lace edging. But of course our favourite thing to make with Twist Light is our Toe-Up Afterthought Heel Socks — they’re perfect for any season!

Spincycle Dream State has arrived in three new colours as well: Holy Toledo, Opia, and Strawflower. Holy Toledo is a tornado of brightness, Strawflower’s mix of shining warm tones and deep blues is like a sunflower in the shade, and Opia has all the juiciness of a summer berry pie. As an Aran weight yarn Dream State is fantastic for any warm accessory, whether you’re getting ready for winter or a chilly wild swim. Check out Adrea Mowry’s Nightshift Shawl, which was designed to make the most of Dream State!

We also have a few new colours of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool, following our haul from last month. Bomboloni, Opia, and Goldie have joined our collection. We love this yarn for sweaters, shawls, accessories, or even a bold and unexpected stripe in an otherwise solid-coloured garment.

Layla Qing has done it again in five new stunning colours of Melted Baby Suri. Qing Yarns never stop surprising us with their incredibly vivid colours and oh-so-soft-ness. We truly adore stocking these, and we’re very proud to be the exclusive London stockist of Melted Baby Suri.

Loopette Juliet Jung developed the Melted Suri Beanie specifically to show off all the lovely squishiness of this incredible yarn. With a simple garter stitch construction and options to knit flat or in the round, it’s a perfect project to keep you company on your travels this summer, whether just around town or further afield.

Whether you’re looking for something bright or something neutral, Gepard Wild & Soft has you covered. This well-crafted merino and silk blend is a dependable friend and a perfect stash builder. It’s a great canvas on which to create something beautiful and fun, like PetiteKnit’s Cumulus Blouse or Tee, fun accessories like Ruffle Socks, or Sus Gepard’s Scandinavian Spring cardigan, which also uses Gepard Kid Seta.

Finally, one of our most colourful bases, John Arbon Textiles Knit by Numbers, is on sale while supplies last! KBN applies an innovative concept to colouring yarn: Each colour range is available in six different shades, each of which corresponds to a number. The higher the number, the lighter the shade! Don’t worry, this line isn’t going anywhere, we’re just making room for the new base, which is a 50/50 blend of bluefaced leicester and merino wool, but if you have any WIPs using the original base, now is the time to make sure you have enough yarn to finish!

Susan and Tomomi Mimura on her most recent visit to Loop!

A few weeks ago we were super delighted to have a visit from Tomomi Mimura, aka Mimstermade, and to host some of you in her fabulous embroidery workshop. We love all of Mimstermade‘s work and we know you do too, so you’ll be glad to hear we have more of her kits arriving later this summer! Her Keychain Kits, Embroidery Hoops, and Bear Kits should be with us by mid-July and her Rabbit Kits should arrive by the end of July or early August. We’re also hoping to host her for more workshops in November, so stay tuned!
