We just adore August. Everyone slows down a little bit, kids make the most of their time before heading back to school, and this year here in the UK we’re finally getting some nice weather after a wet July!
It may not be the first season people think of when they think of knitting, crochet, and handicrafts, but it’s actually a fantastic month to be able to focus on finishing up works in progress or even dedicate the time to learn a new skill. Just in time for this sultry season, we’ve restocked some of our favourite haberdashery tools and volumes full of hints to help you on your way.

We’re thrilled to have Love It Project Bags back in the shop again! These special edition bags made just for loop are so bright and happy and super convenient for holding so many bits and bobs. These are hand-printed and hand-sewn for us using unbleached cotton and eco-friendly inks. The smaller version is perfect for haberdashery items and the large version can hold even a small project. They’re even great for just organising your normal handbag! We’re so grateful that Love It founder Ingrid Korteknie has made these special bags for us.

These beauties are made in Italy and we can’t get enough of them. They’re a sure way to add a bit of glitz and glam to your crafting kit, plus they’re just fabulous tools. Back issues of Selvedge are now on sale at Loop! This incredible magazine always delivers incredible insights into textiles — both the traditions at their roots and the modern artists influencing their futures. They’re really more like books than magazines, and we find ourselves referring back to old issues all the time. We truly love Selvedge and we’re pleased to be able to offer a limited number of old issues at a reduced price as we make room for more incredible volumes! Once these are gone, they’re gone.
