Tuli ~ A New Cowl Kit
We’ve been so busy lately, introducing you to new Loop patterns and kits! We prepared a number of new ones for Edinburgh, and you love them! Today we have another special one for you ~ Tuli ~ an ombre cowl pattern by Fiona Alice.
Fiona Alice’s latest design for Loop, Tuli, is inspired by a bonfire celebration of the Finnish summer solstice.
Translated from the Finnish language, the name means fire – paying homage to the classic Fireflowers pattern which has been modified here.
Multiple combinations of garter and slipped stitches are used throughout this design. The construction allows Tuli to be completely reversible: with a simple flip of the cowl, there is a brand new texture to show off!
Each kit comes with all the yarn you need to make the Tuli cowl including a full set of Snail Yarn Gradient mini skeins and a full skein of The Uncommon Thread BFL Singles. There’s also a lovely Loop cotton shopper bag to keep as a project bag and a printed version of the pattern.
The kits come in three beautiful colourways: Into Dust, Peony and Golden Praline. Each makes use of one of the beautiful gradients of Snail Yarn. The mini skeins in a set, come from the same dye bath. They have varying amounts of dye take-up, providing the subtle shades.
The cowl is light, yet cosy; perfect for spring breezes.
Fiona worked at Loop when she spent 2 years abroad from her native Canada. She has designed a couple of free patterns here on the blog, including  our popular, baby pattern Mabel.
And the Blossom Bunting we made from our beautiful Alpaca Tweed.
You can expect to see more of her stunning design collaborations with us soon.

What is the sweater pattern the model is wearing in the first picture? It looks lovely, nicely detailed. Thanks!
I was going to ask the same thing! It’s SO lovely
Claudia, I found it on Instagram. It’s Dexter by Isabell Kraemer.
I love this cowl. I am not allowed to cast on anything new until I have finished two of my WIPs, so I’ve added this to my Ravelry library for later in the month!
