Carrying Yarns When Striping
Our easy, free pattern, Sophie’s Hat, uses stripes to jazz up a basic hat pattern. Here’s a quick tutorial showing how to carry your two differently-coloured yarns up while working the stripes!
Here you can see the grey is the yarn in use. Before you begin the next row, also in grey, you want to twist the grey around the pink, so it is secured on the side. So the grey goes under the pink…
Then up, so it has travels around the pink…
And then the grey is used to make your first stitch.
You would do the opposite when your second colour (pink) is in use. Easy peasy!
