This new pattern book by Gudrun Johnston, “The Shetland Trader” is a favourite at Loop. It has so many patterns that we want to knit. Most of us have our eye on more than one. I adore the lace cardi on the front, and would love to see it done in Madelinetosh Prairie, if it can make gauge. I must swatch! We have so many new, exciting books coming into the shop at the moment! I’m very pleased that we have become a place where you can actually look at real books (as opposed to the internet). When Borders closed, there was nowhere to look at craft books any more. The other chains carry hardly any, as I guess they are too specialized to take up their space. We have some new books in stock. The much awaited new Cookie A. book,  Knit. Sock. Love has arrived and it’s really lovely. She has published it herself but the quality is unsurpassed by any of the big name published books. She’s used lots of test knitters, so the patterns should be error proof.
