We are passionate about textiles at Loop and are very excited to bring you two new workshops this spring with textile artists Anne Kelly and Ekta Kaul. Anne Kelly is an award-winning textile artist, author and tutor based in the UK, exhibiting and teaching internationally. She has authored several beautiful books, about her collaborative works, dealing with nature, folk art, travel and migration.
Let’s talk about mending this week. We so often focus on the making of fabrics whether it’s knitting or crocheting but what do we do with all of the wonderful knitwear once it has been created and starting to wear out from years of wear and love?
For a real treat in this new year, we have organised a workshop with the very talented textile artist and author Mandy Patullo!Mandy’s book Textiles Transformed has been especially popular with all of you this past year. It’s no wonder as it such a fantastic resource of information and inspiration for re-purposing our cherished fabrics into beautiful works of art. Currently on pre-order at Loop, we are expecting more copies in the next week!
Well, it’s nearly the end of 2020. While most of us are probably glad to see the end of it, there is a lot to look forward to and at Loop, we have been making lots of plans for 2021. We have some new online classes we would like to tell you about this week as well as some regular online workshops with new dates in the diary. We are very excited to be able to welcome Carolyn Bloom from Bloom Handmade Studios to our roster of talented artist-teachers at Loop.
We are so thrilled to have some new sets of Linladan’s wonderful 100% linen thread! You might remember the beautiful Nordiska vintage threads we had a few weeks ago from Tanja of Linladan in Sweden. This thread is Lyster linen and is the same weight as the vintage linen threads. Each box has two kinds of the Lyster linen threads. One is a soft ,even thread and the other a slightly firmer more fibrous thread. They are all incredibly beautiful.
Our London shop is open again! We reopened on 28th July, and have been planning and organising new events, both via Zoom and at the shop. We’re sharing these with you this week in case you missed them! We also have a little round-up of new-in things, and beautiful yarns and objects we have received this past week.
This week we’re dropping in with a little post to let you know that we have some wonderful classes lined up for Autumn 2019, and into Spring 2020. We’ll be welcoming Hikaru Noguchi and Celia Pym back to Loop, and will be greeting a brand new teacher, artist Richard McVetis!

We’re so excited about all the wonderful new patterns that use Mrs Moon yarn! A favourite at Loop, the different bases from Mrs Moon are all super soft and wonderful to work with and the bright, beautiful colour palette always makes us happy.
