Fabulous Fabric Totes Are Here Again!

Fabulous Fabric Totes Are Here Again!

More of the coveted Fabulous Fabric Totes have arrived! Just two weeks after we first introduced these remarkable little bags we’re so so happy to be able to bring you more of them ā€” and in some new colours, too!

Cool and retro “Caramel + Peach”

Believe it or not, these adorable totes are made out of material recycled from seat covers in India as well as recycled belt material. We love a good upcycling story and giving pre-loved textiles a new lease on life is one of our favourite things to do, so the Fabulous Fabric Tote suits us down to the ground.

The Fabulous Fabric Tote is the perfect splash of colour to throw on your arm as you head out the door, either to keep all your essentials close at hand or to bring a small project along for the ride. And knowing the materials have been repurposed just makes this accessory that much more thrilling. Our first batch sold out so quickly we were barely able to enjoy having their bright, plush colours in the shop so it’s a total joy to have so many fabulous bags around (that is, until they, too, fly out the door!)

The “Mid-Century Modern” Fabulous Tote is a case study in colour blocking

Each bag is approximately 26 x 28 centimetres, or 10.5 x 11 inches. In addition to the recycled fabric body, the strap is made from recycled belts. There’s some variation between each bag as they are made from recycled materials, but the colours on our website give you a good idea of the main tones.

New Embroidery Sampler Workshop

Learn 50 stitches and more with Melanie Bowles

Make your own “dictionary of stitches” at Loop with Stitch-School founder Melanie Bowles! In each session Melanie will introduce a range of embroidery stitches and discuss how they can be used to customise clothing with monograms or embellishments or to mend damaged items with visual flair. No one is more passionate than Melanie about the history and tradition of embroidery as well as its contemporary application. All materials will be provided so all you need to bring is yourself! And you’ll leave with a 50 Stitch Embroidery Sampler to complete at home. Melanie will join us for two separate stitch workshops on Sunday 2 June. Reserve your place now!

Lovely Embroidery Materials from NONA

Speaking of embroidery, we’ve received more beautiful naturally dyed threads from NONA in Japan. These are such special materials to work with. You can really see the care and attention that has gone into everything. NONA’s work with the colours of nature, including some exquisite use of indigo, is sure to make your stitches stand out for all the right reasons. Whether you’re after a simple thread twist or twist set, a thread bundle or bundle set, or even a Mini Tsudura Box of thread bundle, the craftsmanship behind these fine cottons won’t disappoint.

Happy crafting!
