Springtime Treats Hop into Loop!

Springtime Treats Hop into Loop!

All over London, spring is in full bloom — and Loop is no exception! Just in time for the Easter bank holidays we’ve received all kinds of inspiration to keep your needles clicking.

As the squirrels start to scurry around we have two sweet squirrel haberdashery bits in the shop, stitch markers and tin boxes (which also feature a piper) for keeping all your favourite notions together. These industrious little pals are great crafting buddies, and the energy they bring after their fallow winter months will help bring renewed energy and vigour to your needles and hooks.

Plus, some very special springtime hues have hit the shelves as well. Last week we told you about some beautiful new La Bien Aimée colours in the shop and goodness gracious are they gorgeous. Paying homage to the crocuses and lilacs adorning our meadows and streets, the new colours “Amira” and “Anemone” are perfectly purple and available in Cashmerino, Kumo, and Merino Singles. “Confetti Cake” in Kumo and Merino DK promises carefree days to come, while, “Grellow” and “The North” recall the season’s thrillingly changeable climate. Check out these and more fabulous colours from our eight-box delivery from La Bien Aimée!

We’ve also received more skeins of Madelinetosh’s super fun mini skein Unicorn Tails in the colour “Short Court”. Bursts of colour against a warm neutral background make “Short Court” a fun and unexpected way to bring colour to a project, whether you’re working on granny squares or fair isle, and the size of this skein makes it easy to add a pop without ending up with loads of leftovers. Best of both worlds!

Unicorn Tails mini skeins sing in Short Court. You can see what this yarn looks like knit up in the main image at the top of this post.

As usual we’ve also stocked up on the very finest tools for knitting, and this week there are two superb needles joining our collection. First, gorgeous sets of Seeknit Koshitsu Cable Needles have an elegant curve that will naturally keep your stitches from falling off as you work cables and braids in your knitting. Seeknit has used their century of experience to craft a beautiful, simple, smooth, and extremely durable needle that will be a joy to work with.

Simple and streamlined, these needles are perfect for any cable knit project.

Clover’s Takumi Premium Bamboo Circular Needles have also arrived and they are totally perfect. These circular needles, pictured in the main image at the top of this post, are a cut above with their sharper tips, smooth needles, and (most excitingly) swivel cords, meaning they never get warped or twisted even if you’re using magic loop. But the swivel cord doesn’t come at the expense of a more snaggy link between the needle and cord — the join here is seamless, and in fact Clover has gone to lengths to make even the needle itself smoother with a very fine etching of the needle size information. Each needle size also has a different colour at the join with the cable, making them very easy to identify. These are just completely spectacular to work with.

If you’re looking to stock up on needle favourites, Clover Bamboo Circulars in 40cm, 60cm and 80cm lengths are currently in our Haberdashery Sale section along with Addi Novel Circulars and a few remaining sizes of Addi Brass-Nickel Needle Circulars. Check out the full selection!

And if you’re searching for some inspiration for your next project, look no further than our collection of books, many of which we’ve recently restocked. With the long weekend ahead, You Will Be Able to Knit by the End of This Book and You Will Be Able to Crochet by the End of This Book would make a perfect companion if you’re looking to pick up a new skill or help a loved one learn. The simple instructions on the basics in this book make it easy to learn the foundational stitches, and 15 stylish projects in each volume help beginners see the fruits of their labours quickly.

We’re also excited to have received Yumiko Higuchi’s Simply Stitched in Wool, which features plush, dimensional embroidery with a modern feel. The 24 botanical motifs featured all stitch up quickly thanks to the voluminous quality of wool threads, allowing you to quickly create and explore new patterns. Explore all our beautiful wool embroidery threads to get started making these beauties! Three of our other favourite embroidery books are also back in stock, two by Yumiko Higuchi and one by Hikaru Noguchi: A Year of Embroidery and Embroidered Botanicals by Yumiko Higuchi and Darning: Repair Make Mend by Hikaru Noguchi. Exploring the art, style, and practical applications of these stitches, Yumiko and Hikaru bring new depth to the craft and spark ideas for how to apply it along the way.

Easter Hours

We will be open for our normal hours through the Easter weekend: open Friday and Saturday from 11:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday from noon to 5pm. On the bank holiday Monday we’ll be closed as usual. Why not stop by and fill your basket!

Enjoy!
