ITO Osaka Scarf Kit in Four New Colourways We Love

If you know Loop you know we’re huge fans of all things ITO. This Japanese yarn maker focuses on producing high-quality materials with a focus on tactile sensations, and the ITO Osaka Scarf is a gorgeous example of their craft.

We’ve carried ITO Osaka Scarf Kits for a number of years and in a variety of different colourways and they’ve always been a huge hit. The lightweight gossamer drape of this triangular shawl is totally gorgeous, and its mixture of warmth and airiness means it’s well suited to year-round wear. We just love the effect of this shawl. It’s simple and understated but hugely effective as a statement piece, and it really allows the gorgeous yarn to take centre stage.

It’s also a breeze to knit, with no complicated instructions to keep track of, so it’s perfect for social settings and for travel (you won’t believe how light the materials are!) Confident beginners and up will have no trouble at all with this pattern, though the quality of the silk mohair yarn can make it a bit tricky to work with for those just starting out.

So we’re really thrilled to give this excellent shawl a little makeover with four new kit colours. Bonbons, London Blues, Paris, and Angel are our very Loop-esque interpretations of this shawl, combining some of our favourite hues to tell tonal stories we love. Tomomi Mimura’s “mosaic” stitching technique is truly ground-breaking and will totally change the way you think about stitching.
