Cosy Cuteness to Keep the Late Winter Cold Away!

Cosy Cuteness to Keep the Late Winter Cold Away!

The winter chill may be with us for a while yet, but we have so many wonderful things arriving in the shop we don’t even mind!

More from Miesje Chafer

We’re so happy to see handmade Miesje Chafer Project Bags back on our shelves! These always brighten a room and Miesje has been in such high demand lately that they’ve been hard to come by. But they’ve arrived again and the whole store looks so happy and bright. These bags are the real deal. Beyond being excellent eye candy, they’re fully designed with the knitter in mind, with sturdy handles, a flat bottom so it can stand upright on the floor, and a drawstring closure to make sure none of your yarns or haberdashery bits go missing. We’re also expecting some of Miesje’s excellent Fabric Swatch Sets to arrive any day now. Keep an eye out!

Limited Edition La Bien Aimée Gilliatt!

We love De Rerum, and we love La Bien Aimée, so you can imagine how we feel about the collaboration between these two iconic yarn brands based in France! The limited edition La Bien Aimée Gilliatt is totally dreamy. Aimée’s incredible colours on this iconic worsted weight base with just a hint of heather (courtesy of the black Portuguese wool that’s blended in) are totally perfect. As usual, Aimée is giving us sorbet neons and moody neutrals, just the ticket for these late winter days. This is one of those yarns where it doesn’t matter if you know what you want to knit with it right now. The perfect project will definitely come along!

Restocking Some Fabulous Kits

We adore a good kit and this week we’ve received more of a few of our absolute favourites. The Artus Shawl is a wonderful, tapestry-like knit that combines so many beautiful earthy tones and is seriously fabulous to wear — both in terms of how it feels and how it looks. Our Wildwood Crochet Scarf Kit with hand-dyed colours by Mette Mehlsen has also arrived in the shop again, as marvelous as ever. This naturally dyed organic wool is totally unbelievable. And the Crepe Myrtle Shawl is the ultimate piece to take you from soirée to sofa with its comfy good looks.

Border Mill North Coast Tweed Sale

We have 13 colours of the incredible Border Mill North Coast Tweed 4-ply on sale. We absolutely adore this pure Shetland wool with hues inspired by Scotland’s north coast (and of course we’re going to keep stocking it) but it’s time to say goodbye to just a few of the huge range of colours we have at Loop. This is a great opportunity to stock up on this beautiful yarn to make some incredible projects, like the Crepe Myrtle wrap in your very own bespoke colourway, the Arrina Fairisle sweater, the Laterano scarf, or Bandstand Mitts. And of course you can check out our full range of Border Mill North Coast Tweed 4-ply (including our super special Box Set and Mini Box Set) on our website or in the shop!

Claire Montgomerie in Print and in the Shop!

Pick up Claire’s new book on how to start crocheting — and then come meet her in the shop!

There’s something fabulous coming to the world of crochet. The new book The Beginners Guide to Crochet is publishing on 31 January and we’re super excited to host a Meet and Greet with the author, Claire Montgomerie, on 24 February! Claire will be signing her book, and doing some free crochet stitch demonstrations. Claire has been a great friend of Loop for so many years, right from our beginning actually, as she was Susan’s very first employee! As well as being the original ‘Loopette’, Claire has taught crochet classes in the shop and even contributed to our 10-year anniversary book. It’s always a treat to have her in the shop, and this book is a real cause for celebration! With all the basics about how to set yourself up (including things you might not think of like how to hold a crochet hook) plus tons of techniques and 8 projects to try out, it’s the top-to-bottom guide you need to start your crochet journey. Pick up your copy next week and join us in the shop in February!

Corinne Lapierre Stitching Kits

Attention all stitchers! We’ve received more loveliness from Corinne Lapierre in the shape of her super sweet stitching kits. These beauties are the easiest way to get from zero to an embroidered felt toy or decoration with the least amount of stress. Even if you just have the most basic embroidery skills, the stitch guides and detailed instructions included in these kits make them a total breeze. Plus they’re super cute! Cat and dog animal figures, heart and birdhouse shapes, and even practical tools for future projects like a needle case and a pincushion are all made super adorable by Corinne. Start stitching!

SOS!

Our first free knitting help session of the year is this Sunday 28 January from 10:30 am to noon. This is about the time of year you start to hit snags in those ambitious projects you took on over the holidays, and we’re here to help! No need to book, just drop us an email if you need help with something more complex, like fisherman’s rib or advanced cables.

See you in the shop!
