Buaisou Indigo

Indigo has been woven into the culture of Japan for centuries, colouring the garments of Imperial Court members and common people for centuries. The rich tradition of indigo dyeing lives on in Japan, and the collective behind Buaisou are the best of the best.

Do you remember your very first skein of yarn? Your first knitting needles or crochet hook? How it felt to pick your very first crafting materials, and the journey that unraveled from that single choice? The warmth of that memory stays with many of us through decades of crafting. The single skein that sparked it all.

We love every kind of stitching. If it uses a hook or a needle, it’s for us. But every once in a while, one type of stitching just totally captures our imagination, and right now it’s crochet!

There’s little we love as much as a shawl. These versitile, all-season garments are a joy to wear, and the rhythm of making them is always entrancing. So when a yarn is designed especially for making shawls, there’s a good chance we’re going to adore it.

At Loop, we’re lucky enough to spend our days surrounded by gorgeous knits. Over the years we’ve seen so many incredible pieces come through the door. But every once in a while there’s one we just can’t get out of our heads.
