Phew! We are still reeling from the opening of our new shop! We’ve never had a day like it!  There were over 130 people waiting in the queue when our shop opened to applause and cheers. (It was very heart warming ~ tears were shed backstage!) Thank you to everyone who came and made the day such a joyous celebration for us! Many bloggers have written about the event and posted pictures of the mayhem. (Lookie here,  here, here, here and here for just a taster.) I’d love to hear from others who have pictures and blog links! I wasn’t …

We are having a crazy time at Loop;  you may have noticed we keep changing the opening dates for our new shop. But, more about that later. If you haven’t heard already, Loop is moving to a big new shop! All four floors of this Camden Passage building will be ours! Mwaa, haa, haa, haa!!! We’ll miss Cross Street, but Camden Passage, an old antique district of Islington, has its own charms (including hand-made chocolates, vintage buttons and clothing, and The Elk in the Woods). The main reason for our move is to make more space for all the lovely goodies we carry. We are bursting at the seams of our current shop. If any of you have taken workshops with us, you’ll know that our stock …

We get so inspired by hanging out with beautiful yarns and knitting supplies all day, that we wanted a place to share our ideas! We will be offering you free patterns, yarn ideas, tips, projects and more on a weekly basis. So, come on  in and  join us on the comfy sofa. Please excuse the mess while we settle into our virtual space and link everything up. Welcome to our new Loop Knit Lounge!

Loop loves yarn from all over the world but it is a particular joy to carry special yarn from our native isles.  Over the next few months we’ll be getting more UK yarns into the shop. But right now we’d like to introduce you to one of our new favourites: Old Maiden Aunt. Old Maiden Aunt yarns are dyed by Lilith in Scotland. We carry her DK weight alpaca/silk blend. These yarns are hand-painted with a very subtle blend of semi-solid colours. The alpaca/silk content means they drape beautifully and are very warm without being bulky.  The colour range isn’t …
