Perfectly Purple — A New Colourway for Mette Mehlsen’s “Geranium”!

Perfectly Purple — A New Colourway for Mette Mehlsen’s “Geranium”!

A new colour of Mette Mehlsen’s Geranium Scarf Kit called “Anne” celebrates all the most beautiful shades of purple.

The many hues of Mette Mehlsen

We of course love all of Mette’s work and this gorgeous shawlette is no exception. Geranium’s mixture of texture and colour really shows off Mette’s fantastic hand-dyeing and the extraordinary organic wool base.

All of Mette’s wools are hand-dyed using only the best natural ingredients. The colours she’s able to achieve are really stunning, and their subtleties play off each other so well. It really does feel like you’re knitting with nature!

Single cakes of Mette’s Plant Dyed Wool are available to buy as well. Adding a colour that’s special to you is a fun way to make your Geranium (or any other Mehlsen Kit) totally unique to you. They’re also just beautiful to work with on any project that calls for a fine wool. A real asset to any stash.

More Colours to Love from Laines Vilaines

“Building Castles in the Air” by Laines Vilaines

We have a lovely array of new colours from Laines Vilaines in both Boulette Sock and Boulette Fing bases. Candy-floss reminiscent “Building Castles in the Air”, warm and sunny “Devouring Apricots”, beachy-keen “Picking Sand Roses”, and aquamarine “Frosted Primroses” and “Pond Reflections” hit the high notes of summer, while “Stormy Sis”, “Pinching Distaffs”, and “Kenojuak’s Owl” provide moody counterparts. We love having so many colours of these gorgeous hand-dyed yarns in the shop. They’re perfect for colourwork (whether formal or just a dash here and there) so it’s always great to have a nice array on hand!

Textured Knits Trunk Show this Weekend!

Paula Pereira joins us in the shop on Saturday

Stop by the shop on Saturday 22 July for the Textured Knits Trunk Show with Paula Pereira! Indulge in the tactile pleasure of Paula’s designs, get a first-hand look at her knits, and find inspiration for your next project. Paula will be in the shop from 2 to 5 pm to chat and demonstrate some of the special techniques used in her designs, such as the “embroider as you knit” stitch (you’ll need to bring or buy a little fingering to worsted yarn, suitable needles, and a suitable crochet hook if you want to give it a try). See you there!

Lovely La Bien Aimée Cashmerino Tiny Tassels

Cashmerino Tiny Tassels at Loop

One of our favourite knits is back and kitted up! The La Bien Aimée Cashmerino version of Tiny Tassels is restocked in the shop. This tried and true Loop favourite is so lovely in the super soft Cashmerino base, which originally launched at Loop! We’re also really excited to bring a very special new LBA version of Tiny Tassels using the Kumo base in “Heliodore”. Here’s a sneak peak at this gorgeous yarn and the three different colours used for the tassels. We can’t wait to see this one cast on – launching next Friday!

More Mimster!

Time for some more embroidered goodness from Tomomi Mimura! We’re all stocked up in Mimstermade Mimster Kits and her amazing book Embroidery Sewn with the Darning Stitch! These both are a great way to get started if you love Tomomi’s style but you’re not sure where to begin. The kit contains detailed instructions and all you’ll need to get going (including an embroidery hoop that doubles as a frame to show off your work when you’re done) and the book is a great introduction to her techniques and perfect for those who want to learn and be inspired by how she uses colour and texture. We love the colourful cuteness!

Stitch well xx
