A Special New Year Book Sale and Gorgeous Arrivals at the Shop!
As we continue to prepare for our stock check and shop refresh, we’re coming across some favourite things that we have loved having in the shop for such a long time. Remembering all the loveliness that has come to the shop has been a real treat. But of course to make room for more things to love we’ll need to clear out some of these old beauties.
That’s why we’re having a super special new year sale on some really fabulous books, magazines and printed patterns! The range of crafts, garments, ages, and miscellaneous projects covered is really wonderful —from knitting to punch needle, new-born cosies to sophisticated sweaters and lots more in between.

Give Us a Twirl! Baby Cakes at Loop
Just look at these beauties. We are so so excited to have Twirl Baby Cake Sets back in stock at Loop, all the way from California! The beautiful base, Stamen, is a single-ply lace-weight yarn made from the fleece of the lambs, sheep, and angora goats on Twirl proprietor Mary Pettis-Sarley’s farm. This yarn is truly gorgeous, and the colours Mary manages to achieve — both with natural dyes and with undyed fibres — is absolutely stunning. In the shop right now we have Naturally Dyed and Undyed Naturals sets. Each set contains 12 cakes of around 50 yards each for a total of 600 yards to play with. These sets are perfect for any knit, crochet, or stitching project that calls for lace weight yarns. We’re so grateful that Mary makes these just for us!
We’ve just added a new date of our ever-popular Mending Workshop with Celia Pym! Join us on Saturday 18 May to discover the tools and techniques you’ll need to keep your garments functional and looking fabulous for years and years. Celia is truly a masterful textile artist whose stitches don’t just bring a piece back into good nick but actually add to its beauty and its story. We adore her work and it’s so wonderful to see her wonderful skills passed on to so many!
Punch Needle Craft by Clare Youngs
With just this book, a punch-needle pen, and a few other basic supplies, Clare Youngs will have you whipping up your own gorgeous pieces in no time! Punch-Needle Craft contains instructions and inspiration for 30 home wear and accessory projects from plant-pot covers to zipped pouches. Punch needle is beginner-friendly and a total blast, plus it’s a great way to use up fabric and yarn scraps.
The shop is getting a new lick of paint later this month and we’re taking the opportunity to do a huge stock check at the same time. To allow all this important work to take place, we’ll be closing both the London and online shops from the 15th to the 18th of January, inclusive. The last online orders will be taken at 5pm UK time on Sunday the 14th and we’ll open it again from the evening of Thursday the 18th. Our London shop will be open until 5pm on Sunday the 14th as usual and will open again on Friday the 19th. Click and collect orders won’t be available to pick up while the shop is closed, so please try to pick up any orders by 5pm on Sunday the 14th. Thanks for your patience!
