We hope you enjoy your Easter holiday! We just wanted to remind you that we are closed on Easter Sunday (and Monday as usual), reopening on Tuesday April 18th. All postal orders from over the weekend will go out as normal on the 18th. Enjoy!

Have you noticed the beautiful plant-dyed yarn that appears in the banner slideshow for our online shop? We are very proud to be the exclusive stockist of Mette Mehlsen’s yarns, which are dyed with plants collected from western parts of Jutland, Denmark, where she lives and dyes. Susan (our lovely Loop proprietor) discovered Mette through her beautiful Instagram feed, and loved everything about what she was doing –  from the natural dyes, the colours achieved and the use of white and grey wool native to Denmark right down to the beautifully simple wrapped brown paper bands. The Grant Scarf, from Juju’s Loops,  in three colours, is our ‘go-to’ pattern for a chunky chevron scarf. It was designed to use exactly 2 skeins of the Misti Alpaca Chunky and 1 each, of two other colours. Misti Alpaca Chunky is a very soft and seductive yarn. However, some men find that the fluff of the Alpaca is not ideal for bristly beard hairs. For them, we have redesigned Grant in hardy, chunky yarns. Spring is finally popping off here in London; The daffodils, crocuses, and hyacinths are up and there are buds on the trees. We have the perfect transitional weather cardigan for you and a pattern give-away!

It’s time! In addition to our normal opening hours in the London shop, this weekend we’re taking Loop on the road up to the Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and you’ll find us at stand H1. We hardly ever do shows as the shop keeps us pretty busy, but we just couldn’t resist this one; we are so honoured to be there. We have been packing the boxes for the last few weeks, and we are very excited to show you what we have.

Next weekend at Edinburgh Yarn Festival we’ll be launching Andrea Mowry’s new cowl pattern kit ‘Across The Pond’, created in a special collaboration between Spincycle Yarns, Andrea and Loop, to launch at Loop’s stand at EYF! Knitted with Spincycle Yarns’ newest colourway  ‘Melancholia’ in ‘Dyed In The Wool‘, and paired with their Private Label milled merino sportweight in ‘Natural Grey’. The Across The Pond kits will include the yarn and pattern all wrapped up in a specially designed project bag, celebrating our collaboration for the festival. The first issue of Making, ‘Flora’, was released last summer and sold out at Loop many times over, and when the second issue ‘Fauna’ was released in November, it practically flew out the doors. Loop loves independent publishing and Making is one of our favourites; it’s a beautiful publication that we are more than a little smitten with, and we are absolutely thrilled that our Loop exclusive Orkney Angora ‘St Magnus’ in ‘Ghost’ is featured in the Arctic Cowl by Carrie Bostick Hoge.
