To walk into a garden, or country lane; take a handful of petals and leave them in a sun warmed jar with a hank of silk or wool for a couple of weeks; take out; rinse; leave to dry and then knit or weave yourself a magical golden shawl: that’s alchemy!

What a season Brooklyn Tweed are treating us to! First the limited edition, and simply stunning range of lace weight Plains at the start of the summer, and this week are delighted to introduce you to three new colours of Shelter: the Marls. Since it’s launch this past Tuesday it’s been positively flying off our Loop shelves! But don’t you worry, we have another lot coming our way in two weeks time, so you won’t have to wait for very long.

Here at Loop, we are long time fans of the lovely people at Blue Sky Fibres (formerly Blue Sky Alpacas). In fact, they were among the first yarns that we stocked when we first opened up shop, almost 11 years ago, making us their first ever stockist in Europe. So it goes without saying that we are more than a little excited to continue supporting them as they launch the new chapter of their story.

Rachel Atkinson is a talented designer, technical editor and knitter  – now she’s on to her next wooly adventure with her yarn Daughter of a Shepherd that launched this year.

A true one off, Plains is something extra special from Brooklyn Tweed. A breed specific, limited edition yarn created from a single-batch collaboration with Mountain Meadow Mill in Buffalo, Wyoming USA.

Now we’re always thrilled when deliveries of woolly goodness arrive, but last week something extra special made it’s way to Loop. We’ve been working with the lovely folks at The Border Mill to bring you our very own range of yarn! Loop Alpaca Tweed is soft, textured and has the most gorgeous heathered colours – can you tell why we’re head over heels?

We just can’t get enough of that beautiful summer sun that is starting to shine, which means only one thing, more summer yarns! New to Loop we have the light and soft Alba Cotton from the lovely BC Garn.

A beautiful collection of the most unique yarns, all from small mills in Japan, are inspiring our latest knits. Luxurious silks, marvellous mohair and some multi-coloured treats are all new to Loop this Spring.

As we start to welcome back the warmer weather it’s also time to say hello to some beautiful new cottons! We’re expanding our range of plant fibres like linen and cotton in preparation for the summer projects you have planned. First up we have these cute little bundles from Dutch brand Scheepjes.
