Happy 2014 to all you lovely knitters and crocheters out there! We had such a lovely time over Christmas, helping you choose projects to give as gifts, helping your loved ones choose presents for you, and generally revelling in the cold weather and festive vibe. We’re not too sad the holidays are over because there is so much to look forward to at Loop in 2014. We know it’s still over a month until Christmas but, as knitters, we’re inherently inclined to plan ahead. A few years ago we compiled lists of what we would ask Father Christmas for if the elves made yarn and haberdashery and we thought it would be fun to do it again! We think it might be useful when you’re compiling your own wishlists, or if you’re thinking about shopping for a knit or crochet inclined friend. Loop will be open from 11-6 on Wednesday, December 29th and Thursday December 30th. We will reopen in the New Year on January 4th. Online orders may be delayed, as we will only be filling them on the days the shop is open, and the post is closed for much of the holidays.

Today’s wishlist belongs to Meghan; frequent Loop model, book lover and romantic knitter: Sophie Digard necklace Juno Sock in potpourri, to make the divine, Damask. (She’d happily have every colour of Juno Sock, if Santa were feeling extraordinarily generous!) Old Maiden Aunt in Gothic and Strange Rock n’ Rollers to make the Crow Waltz Shawl. Continuing with our staff wishlists for Santa,  Rebecca, who likes to bake, read, and dream of a farm filled with animals, wishes for: 6 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted Weight in Forest to make… The Old Mill Hoodie by Cecily Glowik MacDonald. (What a good idea! It’s snowing here today, and the Christmas lights have been switched on in Camden Passage. This puts us in mind to start compiling our letters to Santa. We’ve all been good girls, at Loop, and we have very specific knitting desires that we thought we would share with you.
