Cedar Shake Mitten Pattern
Last week we auctioned off our last copy of Juju’s Loops to raise money for Shelter. Julia Fitzsimmons won with her contribution of £275, which we doubled to make a donation of £550 to Shelter, help with housing and homelessness in England, Scotland and Wales. Thank you to everyone who bid in the auction and made Juju’s Loops, such a success.
This week, we’re releasing one of the most popular patterns from the book, The Cedar Shake Mitts.
This pattern has it all: lace, twisted stitches and ribbing.
It stretches and contracts beautifully to give a well-fitted fingerless mitten with wrist-narrowing appeal, while the wavy lines work to elongate the arm.
It looks best in subtle semi-solid, hand-paint, sportweight yarns. We used Handmaiden Casbah and Madelinetosh Pashmina for the samples in our book.
You can buy the printed pattern or buy a PDF download.
One skein will make a pair, with yarn to spare. If you want a more neutral colour, you could try Dandelion yarns, Rosy Sport. They have some great Greys!
Rosy Sport is very soft and comes in subtle hand-dyed colours, perfect for these mitts!
We were sad to say goodbye to the last copy of Juju’s Loops but delighted to welcome The Cedar Shake Mitts to our pattern collection!
