It’s in the Bag! Re:Designed, Sophie Digard, Mina Perhonen, and More!
Is there anything better than a bag? Project bag, handbag, haberdashery pouch, we’re not picky. A new bag represents potential, a fresh beginning, a future favourite. And this week, we have them in spades.
We’re jumping straight in with some of the most thoughtfully crafted bags we’ve ever encountered. We’ve received some utterly fantastic Freesia Crossbody Bags from Sophie Digard. It goes without saying that we love all the beauty that comes out of Sophie’s studio, but she has really outdone herself this time. This 100% merino crocheted bag adorned by handcrafted flowers is wonderfully tactile and displays a stunning depth of tonality in each of the four colour options.
The detailing here is so intricate and precise. You almost feel guilty using such a piece of art for a practical purpose, but these bags somehow manage to be uber practical as well. The bottom is flat, so it’ll stand up on its own, and the tie strap is super easy to adjust to the right length for you.
If you love this motif but prefer a different bag shape, we also have a few Merino Floral Bags, which have a more traditional shoulder strap shape. Both options are seriously, seriously beautiful.
As soon as we brought Re:Designed to the shop earlier this year we all fell in love, and each time we’ve ordered more they’ve swiftly flown out the door. So this week we’ve brought in reinforcements, with no fewer than six Re:Designed bags available for preorder, plus a few of the Project 08 Knitting Case and the Project 31 Knitting Case in stock.
We’ve already waxed lyrical about Re:Designed’s Project 10 and Project 31, as well as raving about the Project 08 case. The elegance of these truly wonderful cases shows the care that goes into creating them, and the super precise array of storage options inside each makes it clear that these designers’ attention to detail is above and beyond. The cases available for preorder this week run the gamut from spacious carryalls like the Project 45 and Project 39 to diminutive needle envelopes like the Project 34 and more! Check out the whole Re:Designed range at Loop!
Fans of the fantastic Mina Perhonen Toast Bag rejoice! We have five new designs of these enchanting totes. Each one is composed of six panels of exquisite fabric from Akira Minagawa’s studio in Japan. This artful designer’s ethos of wasting as little as possible leads to the creation of some of our very favourite things, from these tote bags to the Fabric Swatches, Buttons, and Brooches (coming soon!) we also carry. The Toast Bag is the perfect arm accessory, whether you’re taking your latest project on the go or zipping into town with a few essentials. In addition to the Toast Bag, we also have Linen Totes from Mina Perhonen, featuring the studio’s signature butterfly motif or a “daisy” pattern. Better yet, they’re currently on sale!
If you need a bag to keep your new bag organised, don’t forget the lovely Swarm Chaffinch Pouches are back in stock as well. With a sweet bird printed on the outside and vibrant Dutch wax print on the inside, this fun and colourful little compartment is sure to bring a smile to your face. It’s perfect for small projects, larger haberdashery bits, or keeping a larger bag organised. We love keeping our essentials in the Chaffinch Pouch to make it easy to swap from handbag to handbag throughout the week!
