We love Madelinetosh yarns at Loop! We started out by carrying just her sock yarns but we loved them so much we started to add others to the collection. Her hand dyed yarn are rich semi-solids in vintage looking colours.  We recently added her aran weight Vintage yarn and her lace weight Prairie yarn. Now her luxury sock yarn, Pashmina has arrived at Loop. It is a 75% merino, 15% silk, and 10% cashmere blend which is softer than her regular sock weight with a subtle silk sheen. Really beautiful! It came in to the store and went out again …

wollmeise yarn and Cookie A's new book

We have some new books in stock. The much awaited new Cookie A. book,  Knit. Sock. Love has arrived and it’s really lovely. She has published it herself but the quality is unsurpassed by any of the big name published books. She’s used lots of test knitters, so the patterns should be error proof. Cookie herself will be at the shop on February 6th to sign copies of her book and show samples. Please come along, we will have cookies and friendly chat on hand. I’ll give you more details closer to the date. Stephen West’s new book, Westknits One …

Susan is going nuts for the new Misti Alpaca “Best of Nature“, chunky yarn!  It’s the same base yarn as our popular Misti Alpaca bulky range, but dyed with natural dyes and mordants in soft hand-paint colours. The 100% Baby (super soft) Alpaca yarn is the most organically produced natural fibre in the world. It would make the most sumptuous baby blanket or sweater! Try a simple chevron stitch in a few colours, like this one by Debbie Stoller.

Loop will be open from 11-6 on Wednesday, December 29th and Thursday December 30th. We will reopen in the New Year on January 4th. Online orders may be delayed, as we will only be filling them on the days the shop is open, and the post is closed for much of the holidays.

Meghan wears the Old Rose Wrap buttoned in the back.

I have finally completed the pattern for the Old Rose Wrap. I’m sorry it has taken me so long! Yes, there were technical difficulties. I was hoping to be able to accompany the pattern with symbol craft charts, however I don’t have the programme to write them on my computer and it was proving very complicated to do it by hand. Enjoy the pattern and please let me know if you find any errors or need clarification. ~Juju at Loop

It’s snowing here today, and the Christmas lights have been switched on in Camden Passage. This puts us in mind to start compiling our letters to Santa. We’ve all been good girls, at Loop, and we have very specific knitting desires that we thought we would share with you. We also share them with our friends and family via the Amazon Universal Wish List button.

We still have lots of Wollmeise left. Call the shop anytime, to order your own gorgeous skein (or two). This beautiful owl is one of the many lovely things we have in shop from Natalie Lete.
