Brooklyn Tweed Fall 2016

With Britain seeing the hottest September day in 105 years, it’s hard to settle in with our yarn projects as evenings get darker, but as we all know full well; winter is coming.

There’s nothing a knitter loves more than when the weather starts to turn. Finally we can bring out all those things we’ve been working on over the summer and start wrapping ourselves and our loved ones in all of our cosy yarn creations once again. But if the tropical heat is putting you off your knitwear for now, what better time to plan for when times really do get colder?

The Brooklyn Tweed Fall 2016 collection dropped this week, with knitters all over the world drooling in anticipation. And – of course – they didn’t disappoint. (Do they ever?)

Inspired by classic menswear, the design team have created 9 garments in versions for both men and women, making a total of 18 brand new patterns. The silhouettes are simple and timeless yet with a touch of modern fit. Textures are intricate and captivating, traditional with a contemporary twist. Gone are the days of stuffy jumper designs; this collection is one you’ll be proud to make and be seen in!

The patterns are sold as PDF copies either through Brooklyn Tweed or on Ravelry, and we have the look book in our London store. And of course, as the European flagship shop, we have all their gorgeous yarns.

It may seem obvious, but we would still dare to suggest using Brooklyn Tweed yarns for these patterns. Not only because that’s what was it was designed for, but also because their rustic woolliness so perfectly suits the classic themes of the collection. We are still as in love with both Loft and Shelter as the first day they hit our shelves.
