Today we bring you the latest lovely pattern from Loop! Juju has designed yet another stunner – and in true Juju form it’s as clever as it is beautiful. Knit side to side, it’s a crescent shaped, garter stitch shawl with a charming wavy border and i-cord edging worked all in one piece. It’s a feat of short-row engineering that’s perfect whether you’re a long time lover of short rows or brand new to the technique. It’s designed to work in either 4ply (fingering) or sportweight yarn – so there’s lots of options! The large version in blue is Shilasdair Luxury …

Berroco yarns have been staples on the shelves at Loop for as long as we can remember. Perfect for cosy sweaters and beautiful accessories alike, we also love Berroco for its amazing patterns too. So lucky us, we recently received a delivery of a gorgeous new Berroco yarn, new colours in our usual bases and some stunning new Berroco patterns from one of our favourite designers  – Norah Gaughan! Above you can see the squishibly soft and candy-coloured new yarn, Abode. It’s a thick-and-thin yarn that features an unusual printed effect that allows the natural colour of the merino wool to …

Summer is finally in full swing here in London, and the heady smell of flowers and trees is in the air. No better time then, to introduce you to our newest pattern: Honeyblossom! Adorned with honeycomb-like cables at the yoke and beautiful pleated gathers at the back, it’s just the right thing to throw over a summer dress or jeans. When the weather warms up, we love turning to smaller projects we can take on the go, like our Afterthought Heel Socks from last week. Cowls are a great accessory to work on in summer too – they usually only take one or two skeins of yarn and you can build up a collection to give away as Christmas presents come winter! This week, we’ve decided to bring you our edit of cowl patterns to keep your needles happy all summer. First up is a cowl from one of our favourite designers, Alana Dakos. Her gorgeous new book Botanical Knits …

With springtime comes wedding season, and for knitters that often means it’s time to knit something that celebrates that momentous occasion. A wedding shawl can mean many different things; you might be knitting one for yourself to wear while saying, “I do,” or you may be making a shawl as an heirloom for someone important to you. You might be knitting a shawl for the mother of the bride or groom, or you might just want something extra special to wear as a guest at a dear friend’s wedding. Whatever your role, a wedding is one of those circumstances where …

This week we have a special treat for you! If you’re a regular Ravelry user, you will probably have seen that one of our favourite designers, Stephen West, has been hosting a ‘knit-along’ and releasing stunning patterns as part of his Westy’s Besties KAL recently. This week, the pattern being released is the shawl he originally designed for Loop – the Westloop Shawl! Stephen has very kindly agreed to offer the pattern for free to Loop customers who purchase the yarn for the pattern in either Brooklyn Tweed LOFT or or the Isager yarns required for the pattern. Hooray!

A lot of you are already ‘popping’ but we thought we’d go ahead and share the fabulous new pattern by Juju Vail for Loop here on the blog!

We’re having a love affair with crochet this autumn. We’ve got many new products to help and inspire  hookers everywhere.

Loop is launching its own range of patterns. (Okay, there ‘s only one in the “range” so far, but we are working on more). Our first, is this lovely baby cardi, Mignon, that uses just one skein of yarn. We have knit this sample in Uncommon Thread, which is a beautiful hand-dyed Bluefaced Leicester. This colourway is called Into Dust. Really Dreamy! But the fun doesn’t stop there… I have to show you this funky and slightly butcher version in Uncommon Thread Brassica. I’m a big fan of this vivid modern mustard colour. And just look at how adorable the …

Just after my last post, Paulina came into the shop with this fabulous Cameo shawl made in Finch. Paulina has been a regular customer for years, and we were delighted when she started designing and publishing her own patterns. We asked her to use Finch for her most recent design, and this asymmetrical striped shawl is what she came up with. We found there were lots of ways of styling it and playing with the stripes. We loved it with Lydia’s grey Kidsilk cardi. (She used the yarn doubled to knit this simple cropped cardigan.) The printed pattern of Cameo …
