We love December. A season of giving and receiving, of creating warm and fuzzy feelings even though the temperatures are plummeting, of light and love and bustling streets and fitting in time for everyone you love — and maybe an extra mince pie. Above all, it’s a season of knitting!

Knitting season has well and truly arrived. Mornings are crisp, evenings are dim, and jumpers are a must on top of the school uniform. Anyone else feeling caught short by the abrupt shift from heat wave to hearth? Fear not! Our kits have everything you need to get from cart to cast-on in a jiffy.

The days are getting shorter and there’s a chill in the air, but that’s no reason to bid farewell to your wanderlust. New beauties by Nathalie Lété have blown in from Paris, a brand new issue of Laine celebrates the wonders of road trips, plus we have buttons from Germany, naturally dyed threads from Japan, and much more to keep your spirit of wonder alive through the months ahead.

It’s starting to feel a bit more Autumnal in London, and we look forward to starting the season with lots of classes and workshops to inspire our creativity. We have lined up some excellent classes and workshops in crochet, knitting, punch needle and textile techniques, where you’ll learn new and improved skills to keep you busy and inspired throughout the Autumn and Winter months.

It may be difficult to imagine while we’re in the throes of another heat wave here in London, but autumn is right around the corner. As we fantasise about cooler days to come, now is the perfect time to plan the season’s knits. This week, we’re looking at the autumn issues of Laine Magazine and PomPom Quarterly as well as some exciting forthcoming books. Read on!
