There’s a new magazine ‘on the block’! Loop is so pleased and excited to be a stockist for the new magazine from Life In The Long Grass. Issue 1, Through The Trees, is out now, and it’s packed with beautiful photography and great patterns from designers like Sari Nordlund and Marion Em. This week we have lots of information about this brand new publication, and lots of beautiful photography.

This week is the second part of our posts about the wonderful new book from Laine Publishing, 52 Weeks of Socks. We’re looking at more of the patterns this week, and we’re also showcasing our fab collection of sock yarns, and some bits of haberdashery too! We are also running a giveaway this week, both here on the blog and on Instagram, so be sure to keep reading to find out more.

Welcome back to the Loop blog! We hope you all had a lovely holiday season, and we want to wish you a (slightly belated) happy new year! January is often very grey and cold for those in the northern hemisphere, so this week we wanted to look at the fabulous book Knits About Winter by Emily Foden, which was published just over a year ago. We are also running a really exciting giveaway this week, so keep reading to find out more!

Today brings us something we’ve all been very excited about – the launch of Laine Magazine issue 9! We love Laine Magazine and the women who create it; this week we’re looking at all the wonderful projects in the newest issue, and picking out the perfect yarns to go with them.

Wow! Cécile Franconie’s new book, ‘Floralies‘, has us swooning, so this week we want to show you how beautiful it is. Cécile is an incredibly talented embroiderer from France, with a unique and very decorative style, with lots of beautiful floral motifs. We are so lucky, as Cécile has been teaching a few classes at Loop this Spring/Summer. We’ve been honoured to welcome her back to the shop.

June has arrived and summer is finally upon us! With June comes the recent release of two great new issues of independent publications – Laine Magazine issue 8 and Pom Pom Quarterly issue 29. We’re dipping into these magazines this week, to bring you lots of ideas for summer knitting. with some of the many beautiful yarns stocked at Loop.

It almost feels like summer in London, so again we’re thinking about more timeless summer knits. A few weeks ago we collected knitting pattern ideas for the mYak Baby Yak + Silk yarn, and this week we’re looking at Amirisu Issue 18, which launched today!

The 'Chilly' cardigan - this uses a dark green mohair and a pale grey cotton/linen, a great example of colour mixing with yarns!

This week we want to spend some time with the newest book from Helga Isager, ‘Stitches‘. The book launched (and sold out!) on our stand at EYF last weekend, and we are so thrilled to have hosted Helga Isager on our stand. We have been a stockist of Isager’s yarns for many years, and created our own designs using their yarns over the years including Oleander, Pinwheel Mitts and Blink. Loop now stocks two more of their yarns, Isager Tweed and Isager Bomulin – we have several staff members planning their summer projects for the Bomulin already!

With the launch of Laine Magazine issue 7 last Friday, and the imminent launch of Pom Pom Quarterly 28 on the 28th of this month, we want to take a closer look at these wonderful publications. Both have amazing patterns that we are itching to cast on, and we are lucky enough to carry some of the yarns that are used!
