The 'Chilly' cardigan - this uses a dark green mohair and a pale grey cotton/linen, a great example of colour mixing with yarns!

This week we want to spend some time with the newest book from Helga Isager, ‘Stitches‘. The book launched (and sold out!) on our stand at EYF last weekend, and we are so thrilled to have hosted Helga Isager on our stand. We have been a stockist of Isager’s yarns for many years, and created our own designs using their yarns over the years including Oleander, Pinwheel Mitts and Blink. Loop now stocks two more of their yarns, Isager Tweed and Isager Bomulin – we have several staff members planning their summer projects for the Bomulin already!

With the launch of Laine Magazine issue 7 last Friday, and the imminent launch of Pom Pom Quarterly 28 on the 28th of this month, we want to take a closer look at these wonderful publications. Both have amazing patterns that we are itching to cast on, and we are lucky enough to carry some of the yarns that are used!

The new Autumn issue of Pom Pom Quarterly is with us now. Issue 26 is themed around the moon; think inky skies, stars, dark evenings, spheres, luminescence, and quiet. There are some striking projects in this issue! Luna We can’t wait to get Luna, by Anna Strandberg, on our needles! Anna is the maker behind hand-dyed Dandelion Rosy Sport yarn, a beautifully soft, organic Merino yarn with saturated colours. Luna is a futuristic but feminine pullover using brioche in-the-round, knit from the top down, with tailored shoulder detailing.  It’s mostly knit stitiches but with enough fun things going on for a supremely …

Shetland by Marie Wallin

Jamieson’s of Shetland is proud to introduce SHETLAND – a beautiful collection of modern Fair Isle by independent designer, Marie Wallin. The collection of 8 garments and 4 accessories knit in Spindrift, 100% Shetland, 4ply Wool, is a showcase for the wonderful colourwork that has become synonmous with Marie’s designs. We are delighted that Marie will be joining us at Loop to showcase her designs and sign copies of her book on Saturday, October 14th, from 1:00 to 3:00.

Long Live Print! Two weeks ago we invited you to peak at some of our latest books, which are part of our huge print section in the shop. This week we introduce you to some of the wonderful independently published magazines that have just come in! It’s a bumper week of beauty –  it’s such a joy to slowly turn the pages of a craft publication and savour the beautiful things we can make. The last five years has seen a rise in smaller, independent periodicals for crafters. At Loop, we seek to bring you as many good new magazines as we can.
