Vintage-inspired mini colour palette in Snefnug!

As you may know, we love CaMaRose yarns at Loop! With wonderful fibre blends, a wide range of great colours, and organic bases, there’s no wonder we can’t get enough of them! We have recently added a new CaMaRose base to the selection we have at Loop; Snefnug, meaning snowflake in Danish, is super soft, super versatile and affordable!

The front cover of the newest Amirisu

It almost feels like summer in London, so again we’re thinking about more timeless summer knits. A few weeks ago we collected knitting pattern ideas for the mYak Baby Yak + Silk yarn, and this week we’re looking at Amirisu Issue 18, which launched today!

We’re bringing you a short post this week, to tell you about a new kit we now have at Loop. The Harlequin Blanket Kit is brand new from CaMaRose, and we are so pleased to have it at the shop! CaMaRose is a favourite brand of many members of staff at Loop; the Danish brand is a lovely supplier of wonderful wools at very reasonable prices. They have a big colour palette with lots of beautiful shades. We stock the Yaku, Hverdagsuld and Lama-tweed, and the Snefnug, which has just arrived!

Spring is in the air, and with summer just around the corner, our thoughts are turning to lightweight knits, perfect for Spring and Summer. Loop has been the proud stockist of mYak yarns for several years, and we want to showcase this gorgeous yarn this week. mYak’s fibres are ethically sourced directly from Tibetan herders, and are collected by hand combing the undercoats of baby yaks and cashmere goats.

This week we are celebrating the recent release of two beautiful new shawl designs from Lori Versaci, of Versaci Knits. Triangulate is a triangular shawl with a combination of garter stitch and uncomplicated lace, and Waypoint is a similar combination of lace and garter stitch, but in the form of a wrap. Both these lovely new designs use the Qing Fibre Super Soft DK, which is one of our very favourite yarns. We have a wonderful giveaway running this week, with the opportunity to win three skeins of the Super Soft DK from Qing, as well as a pattern from …

Some of the threads we have from Au Ver A Soie - Metallic threads shown in Rose, Ice Blue and Copper

Loop has new embroidery threads! Au Ver A Soie was established in Paris in 1820, and has been producing high quality silk threads since then. They are perfect for all kinds of embroidery and stitching, even luxurious quilting! These lovely silks can also be used in jewellery making, tapestry, visible mending, cross stitch, sashiko, lace making, and more.

Beautiful spring colours for cosy sweaters!

We’re proud to say that Loop now stocks printed patterns from PetiteKnit! Mette is the wonderful woman and entrepreneur behind the brand of PetiteKnit. Mette channels her creativity into her passion for knitting, and we are so glad! These are really beautiful knitting patterns. PetiteKnit patterns range from simple baby clothes to more complex adult patterns for sweaters and cardigans. We’re so excited to have these at Loop!

Mabel's Sister looks fantastic in this moodier colour palette

We are excited to announce that new kits for Mabel’s Sister are now available! Our newest kit uses Eden Cottage Bowland DK. This is a favourite yarn at Loop, so it was our first choice for another version of Mabel’s Sister. This special yarn is hand dyed in England and is 100% Blue Faced Leicester. It has a wonderful lustre, and is wonderfully soft and squishy once knitted.

We have a brand new yarn! Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co. was debuted at Loop during Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and we now have it in our London store as well as online. We have two different yarns from Woolly Mammoth, and we’re so happy to welcome them to the selection of wonderful naturally dyed yarns we already have in stock at Loop. We are also running a giveaway this week, with a beautiful bundle of Woolly Mammoth Natural Sock minis up for grabs! Keep on reading to find out more.

The 'Chilly' cardigan - this uses a dark green mohair and a pale grey cotton/linen, a great example of colour mixing with yarns!

This week we want to spend some time with the newest book from Helga Isager, ‘Stitches‘. The book launched (and sold out!) on our stand at EYF last weekend, and we are so thrilled to have hosted Helga Isager on our stand. We have been a stockist of Isager’s yarns for many years, and created our own designs using their yarns over the years including Oleander, Pinwheel Mitts and Blink. Loop now stocks two more of their yarns, Isager Tweed and Isager Bomulin – we have several staff members planning their summer projects for the Bomulin already!
