Made from pure merino wool and in the prettiest shades, our latest yarn from Rico is the beautiful Baby Merino DK. These tiny gems are just 25 grams, making them perfect for smaller projects like booties and hats. Though a small selection of colours, this harmonious set can be striped and used in various combinations for the many adorable jumper and cardigan options from Rico. We are also smitten by the delightful scalloped edge on the label! Such a sweet little detail.

Falling leaves and blustery days means that the wearing and making of cosy knits can truly start! We’ve certainly started to feel the nip of Autumn air in London, so we’re excited for the new chunky yarns that are coming to Loop. First to arrive is the Berroco Ultra Alpaca Chunky. Much like our popular Ultra Alpaca Aran, this Chunky version is a mix of fine alpaca and Peruvian wool. While the alpaca makes a soft yarn with a slight halo, the wool gives it a little more structure than just pure alpaca. The two ply twist means a subtle texture to the knitted …

Koigu means colour and lots of it! A finely spun pure merino yarn that has been used at Loop to create some of our favourite projects – we can’t get enough of their speckled and striped skeins! Especially their new shades for summer 2014…

Soft and floaty, Quince & Co.’s new yarn Piper might make you fall in love with mohair in a whole new way. Blended with a 50% mix of merino this yarn has a smoother texture than brushed mohair with more stitch definition, but still a gorgeous halo.  With a range of pastel shades this almost lace weight is perfect for warm and light hats, jumpers and of course shawls.

A stunning new collection of shawl patterns from designer Melanie Berg arrived at Loop this week which have us reaching for our needles! We are also playing host to many of her samples, so as well as adorning our hooks and hangers we’ve been enjoying trying on these modern and wearable shawls. As her patterns say – ‘Be Inspired. Knit’  and we couldn’t agree more! For those of you who can’t pop in and see them too, we have the next best thing – a chat with the designer herself and the chance to win the pattern of your choice (be sure to read to …
