Wow! Lots of lovely things have been arriving at the shop the past few weeks, and we have been eagerly awaiting a delivery of the sweet little boulettes of sock yarn and merino singles from (Vi)laines. This week we’re showing you these little goodies!

We are so excited about the launch of the newest book from Cecelia Campochiaro – ‘Making Marls, A Sourcebook for Multistranded Handknitting’. Cecelia is the incredibly talented lady behind the ‘Sequence Knitting’ book that we have at Loop, and love!

This week we’re so happy to be able to bring you a little podcast of a talk that was held at Loop in November 2019. We held our ‘Darners in Conversation’ talk in the shop in November 2019 with Hikaru Noguchi, Celia Pym and Rachael Matthews. We hope you enjoy listening to this fascinating conversation.

We’ve been having very stormy weather here in the UK for the past week or so, and spring is feeling a little distant at the moment. What better way to perk up than with the gorgeous new cowl pattern from Andrea Mowry? Moonwake Cowl uses 4 different colours of mYak Medium, a worsted weight 100% yak yarn. We have colour combination ideas for you!

There’s a new magazine ‘on the block’! Loop is so pleased and excited to be a stockist for the new magazine from Life In The Long Grass. Issue 1, Through The Trees, is out now, and it’s packed with beautiful photography and great patterns from designers like Sari Nordlund and Marion Em. This week we have lots of information about this brand new publication, and lots of beautiful photography.

This week is the second part of our posts about the wonderful new book from Laine Publishing, 52 Weeks of Socks. We’re looking at more of the patterns this week, and we’re also showcasing our fab collection of sock yarns, and some bits of haberdashery too! We are also running a giveaway this week, both here on the blog and on Instagram, so be sure to keep reading to find out more.

This week we’re bringing you a new post in our ‘On Our Needles’ series! We’re always busy at Loop with our own personal knitting projects, and recently lots of us have made versions of The Shift cowl by Andrea Mowry. We wanted to share some of our projects and the yarns we used, as we mixed and matched quite a lot from the original pattern.

We received a box of lovely PetiteKnit patterns at the end of last week – how exciting! The PetiteKnit patterns, designed by Mette, who lives in Denmark, are very modern and very on-trend! This week we wanted to shine a spotlight on some of the new PetiteKnit baby patterns we now have in print at Loop – they’re just adorable! Read on to see yarns we would recommend for knitting baby garments.
